      <title><![CDATA[ Moorland &amp; City Success In Regional Growth Fund Bid ]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[ 
	Moorland &amp; City Railways&rsquo; project to create a 30-mile sustainable rail network has been awarded &pound;1.65 million in the second round of the Government&rsquo;s Regional Growth Fund initiative.

	The grant &ndash; the only one awarded to a railway nationally &ndash; recognises the project&rsquo;s major impact on creating employment opportunities in North Staffordshire. As well as around 50 direct employees, the railway will pave the way for 1,000 jobs in the area.

      <title><![CDATA[ Churnet Valley Railway Share Issue Passes &pound;250,000 ]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[ 
	The Churnet Valley Railway&#39;s Share Issue reached &pound;250,000 on 4th May, only five weeks after being launched.

	The next stage of Moorland &amp; City Railways plans to restore services to the line between Leekbrook Junction and Stoke-on Trent received a major boost thanks to a share issue by the Churnet Valley Railway (CVR).

	CVR is seeking to raise &pound;450,000 in its fourth share issue, launched at a special ceremony on March 30th which attracted crowds of enthusiastic supporters.
