Churnet Valley Share Issue Passes £350,000

Posted 17th of May 2012 at 12:00:00

The Churnet Valley Railways share issue passed the £350,000 mark early in May.  It is seeking to raise £450,000 in its fourth share issue, launched at a special ceremony last year which attracted crowds of enthusiastic supporters.

The funds will be split equally between a project to build a new catering hub at Cheddleton Station and the purchase of shares in MCR. This purchase cements the relationship between the two organisations and will also lead to the CVR’s appointment of a heritage director on the MCR board.

Interest in both projects is still strong despite the current economic climate. CVR feels that this is a clear indication of the level of support for the return of the rail route between Stoke on Trent and Cauldon Lowe.
